Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. Half the World Away - by Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two of the most notable covers the singer has created. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft, and becoming intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to make music as a means of personal growth, rather than for the purpose of making a living or as a hobby. The singer began to write her own songs. Alongside Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. After her mom told her that her songs could not only help her achieve fame and also inspire others to see their value in the world and realize how they can benefit from her songs and her music, she was inspired to start singing in public. When she began playing the piano, she was just six and started writing songs at the age of nine. The family members didn't know about it until she turned 14. There was no way she could have imagined to be Aurora. The singer says that she simply likes writing music. She says that music is her most preferred way of feeling anything.
