Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged as a pioneer in the field of child witnesses as well as eyewitness memories in legal settings. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded multiple grants, and been recognized with numerous internationally and national awards. She has worked with many government agencies and institutions throughout the world in research and guidelines pertaining to child victims of the justice system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of several professional associations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). Professor Goodman is an active part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
